Tom's Farm Tour

Article By:  Terry Collings -   May 2004

A total of 25 of us gathered at the Village of Orange on Saturday, May 15, and were guided by our fearless leader Don Miller on another fun excursion.  Our group included Richard & Jeanne Parrish, Don & Colleen Schmidt, Merle McClellan & Eddy, Mel & Terry Collings, Glenn & Sharon Johnson, Mark & Eileen Schwing, Sally Miller, Tom Miller & Rick, Karen & Jeremy Gaynor, Don Tilley, Dan Gerald, Clay Willis, Tom Endy & Lynn Neal, and Bev Marsh & sister Joyce who all traveled in 7 Model A's, 1 "T bucket hot rod" Model A (which had a Model A and a half engine–per Richard Parrish), and assorted driving machines manufactured after 1931.

We all enjoyed the circuitous route to our destination as we ventured through the back roads of Orange , Anaheim Hills, and Corona .  We arrived in time to check out all the interesting attractions at Tom's Farm: shopping, hamburger and Mexican restaurants, baby animals in the petting zoo, arts & crafts booths, grocery/produce store, bird store, delicatessen, and did I mention shopping?  I noticed several members had scored in the stores! Did you see Eddy's treasures?

Of course we all found some good options for lunch and enjoyed visiting with our A friends.  What a day–good weather, food, friends, and Model A's also!

On the way home on the 15 Freeway, Don Tilley had a fuel line problem.  Richard Parrish was a hero again–went back to track down Don and assisted him in getting back on the road. Wonder if Richard will be happy to ditch that "hard luck trophy real soon"?
